I love movies, shows, animation, games, and basically anything that has to do with entertainment. I like to watch good movies and shows and hopefully end up feeling for the characters and the whole plot in general. I commend movies and shows that make the audience feel emotions like anger, excitement, joy, sadness, and even fear because it is very difficult to have the viewer forget that they are watching a movie or show, and have them feel like they are right next to the characters feeling what they are feeling or experiencing what they are experiencing. Whenever I watch a new show and I am conscious of the fact that I am watching it, it ruins it for me because having that illusion of being in the movie/show with the other characters is how to fully enjoy it. I got into emerging media because I would like to create something that would make people feel for the characters and experience the illusion of being in the movie/show itself. I want to learn how to animate. It’s hard because you have to move everything by hand yourself instead of just setting something up and have actors play it out, but it’s also easier because of the same reason. For example, the creator of Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama, has perfectly shown what he wanted to be seen and how he wanted it to be interpreted by the audience. I feel for the fictional characters that he has created and whenever I watch an episode of that show it sucks me into the illusion of being there in it. Animating is perfect for creating the illusion because as the animator you would have full control over how things would look; to the smallest detail. I am looking to do this particular kind of work and hopefully in the future create the same type of illusion.
