Avatar The Last Airbender: Final Agni Kai

In this scene, Zuko has to fight his sister Azula in an Agni Kai, a fire battle. I pick this scene because it was one of the greatest fight scenes of all time from my childhood. It has amazing animation, editing , and story behind it. It starts with a close up of Azula shotting a blue fireball at Zuko and to follow the action it shows Zuko attacking as well.  As soon as they start fighting, we can hear the somber music start playing in the background over their battle. The creators picked somber music over action music because this is supposed to be a fight to the death, but it's a fight between two siblings. One sibling that has rebelled against his family because he knew what they were doing was wrong and another sibling who is so desperate to get approval from her father that she loses her own sanity in the process.  This one cut is following the 180-degree rule. Then it cuts to an ELS with both the fires that they shot, blue and red, colliding and creating a beautiful wall of fire that lights up the entire plaza that they are fighting in.  The next shot cuts to the fire disappearing and Azula jumping upwards and shooting out a combination of fire attacks. Then it cuts to an ELS that has the entire city in view and flames appearing where the fight is taking place, which shows the magnitude of the fight. While they are fighting the scene cuts to the damage that they are doing to the surrounding buildings and when it cuts to a medium shot of Azula's face, we can see her anger and hatred that she shows towards him and her messy and badly cut hair shows her sanity level; pretty low. The fight resumes and cuts multiple times going from a receiving fire attack to facial expressions, ELSs and CUs, and even ECUs like the fear in Azula's eyes when she sees Zuko's fire attack coming for her. All of these shots even continue the action to the next shot, like the fire spreading or when Azula jumps out of the way of the fire then the camera pans and follows her from her location where she jumped to where she is going, and matches eye-line, 180 rule, and shows the point of view from both Azula and Zuko in many shots. In summary, this scene has dozens of ECU, ELS, matching actions, two-shots, one-shots, follows the 180-degree rule, and matches the somber music playing in the background with the action. This scene was beautifully made and to this day is one of my most favorite scenes from any show ever.
